He styles himself a servant of Jesus Christ, as St. Paul does, Phil. i. 1. " Paul and Timotheus the servants of Jesus Christ," as if to say, I am commissioned by Christ to write these things to you; the message is from Him; thus stamping his epistle with the Divine authority of him whose servant he was. " And brot/wr of James."?It was well in the true servant of the Lord, thus to distinguish himself fromi Judas the traitor. He shows also his relationship to James, the Author of the epistle. My dear family, ever be fellow- helpers to the truth. " To them that are sanctified by God the Father.'"
