When this temperature is 53 F. , the dew-point is as much below the wet-bulb as the wet-bulb is below the temperature of the air. At higher temperatures the wet-bulb reading is nearer to the dew-point than to the air-temperature, and the reverse is the case at temperatures below 53. 428.
