Contrastingly, The Process of Simplicity is a story of first love between Jack Young and Evelina Flores. The story takes place over a three-day period after Jack and Evelina's first meeting in Tucson, Arizona, where they are university students. Jack, in a wheelchair, is reserved but intrigued by Evelina's mercurial temperament and attractive looks.
