Volume 8 covers the period from the battle of Ipsus to the death of Pyrrhus, and then to the accession of Antigonus Doson. It looks at the battle of Sellasia and the end of the Social War between the Achaeans and the Aetolians. Then it covers the proclamation of the liberty of Greece under Roman protection, the embassy of Callicrates to Rome, and finally the reduction of Greece into a Roman province.
