Acquired from a sale of the publisher J.M Dent's reference library, with this work being a 'File Copy'. With 'File Copy' stamp and ink inscription to front free endpaper. Joseph Malaby Dent was a British book publisher best known for the Everyman's library series. Leopold Kompert was a Bohemian Jewish author, whose writings tell of the life, customs and manners of other Bohemian Jews. His works on the subject have become classical and sparked many imitators to the same genre.This copy of the work was translated by Alfred S Arnold. In original publishers pale green cloth binding. Externally very smart with bumping to the extremities and head and tail of the spine. Boards are sunned resulting in loss to original green colour.'File' stamp to front free endpaper.
