But the opinions and value judgements begin to be annoying. von Hagen claims, for example, that llamas are "oily", which is completely untrue. There is not one drop of oil on the wool of either of our llamas. Their skin tends to be dry. That is why llama wool does not smell bad when it gets wet. And von Hagen's opinions and value judgements about the lifestyles of the ancient peoples and comparisons to modern reprobative types is almost offensive. The historical data has some value.
