Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin (1870-1935) Worked as Cecil Aldin. Born in Slough, Berkshire,son of a successful speculative builder.After a month in the studio of the 'classical-aesthtic' painter Albert Moore,he studied animal anatomy at the South Kensington School of Art,and later worked under the animal painter Frank Calderon. Armour),he specialised in delicately shaded drawings of country inns,in cheerful olde worlde scenes and canine subjects,particularly dog-portraits,the best of which are the humorous ones.In these,it was said, he 'captured the very soul of a dog'.
