Marc Thiriet:
Signaling at the Cell Surface in the Circulatory and Ventilatory Systems (Biomathematical and Biomechanical Modeling of the Circulatory and Ventilatory Systems, Vol. 3) - hardcover

ISBN: 1461419905

[SR: 4402193], Hardcover, [EAN: 9781461419907], Springer, Springer, Book, [PU: Springer], Springer, The volumes in this authoritative series present a multidisciplinary approach to modeling and simulation of flows in the cardiovascular and ventilatory systems, especially multiscale modeling and coupled simulations. The cardiovascular and respiratory systems are tightly coupled, as their primary function is to supply oxygen to and remove carbon dioxide from the body's cells. Because physiological conduits have deformable and reactive walls, macroscopic flow behavior and prediction must be coupled to nano- and microscopic events in a corrector scheme of regulated mechanisms when the vessel lumen caliber varies markedly. Therefore, investigation of flows of blood and air in physiological conduits requires an understanding of the biology, chemistry, and physics of these systems together with the mathematical tools to describe their functioning. Volume 3 is devoted to the set of mediators of the cell surface, especially ion and molecular carriers and catalytic receptors that, once liganded and activated, initiate signal transduction pathways. Intracellular cascades of chemical reactions trigger the release of substances stored in cellular organelles and/or gene transcription and protein synthesis. Primary mediators are included in models of regulated cellular processes, but multiple secondary signaling components are discarded to allow simple, representative modeling and to manage their inverse problems., 226507, Biomedical Engineering, 226506, Bioengineering, 173515, Engineering, 173507, Engineering & Transportation, 1000, Subjects, 283155, Books, 226515, Unit Operations & Transport Phenomena, 227539, Chemical, 173515, Engineering, 173507, Engineering & Transportation, 1000, Subjects, 283155, Books, 52215011, Energy Production & Extraction, 7921650011, Alternative & Renewable, 226711, Drilling Procedures, 107164011, Electric, 7921651011, Fossil Fuels, 227542, Mining, 13796, Nuclear, 16244621, Power Systems, 173515, Engineering, 173507, Engineering & Transportation, 1000, Subjects, 283155, Books, 13778, Mechanical, 13781, Drafting & Mechanical Drawing, 3074641, Fluid Dynamics, 13785, Fracture Mechanics, 13790, Hydraulics, 13792, Machinery, 13687, Robotics & Automation, 52213011, Tribology, 16244091, Welding, 173515, Engineering, 173507, Engineering & Transportation, 1000, Subjects, 283155, Books, 13540, Molecular Biology, 226688, Biology, 13469, Biological Sciences, 75, Science & Math, 1000, Subjects, 283155, Books, 13514, Biophysics, 13469, Biological Sciences, 75, Science & Math, 1000, Subjects, 283155, Books, 226699, Applied, 16311121, Biomathematics, 13911, Differential Equations, 13922, Game Theory, 13938, Graph Theory, 13946, Linear Programming, 13983, Probability & Statistics, 52161011, Statistics, 16244311, Stochastic Modeling, 13994, Vector Analysis, 13884, Mathematics, 75, Science & Math, 1000, Subjects, 283155, Books, 227630, Cardiology, 227203, Internal Medicine, 265542, Medicine, 173514, Medical Books, 1000, Subjects, 283155, Books, 14131, Cardiovascular, 14116, Diseases, 227692, Pathology, 227203, Internal Medicine, 265542, Medicine, 173514, Medical Books, 1000, Subjects, 283155, Books, 491348, Mechanical Engineering, 468212, Engineering, 465600, New, Used & Rental Textbooks, 2349030011, Specialty Boutique, 283155, Books, 689727011, Cardiology, 689725011, Clinical, 689674011, Medicine, 468228, Medicine & Health Sciences, 465600, New, Used & Rental Textbooks, 2349030011, Specialty Boutique, 283155, Books, 491702, Biology & Life Sciences, 491704, Anatomy & Physiology, 684289011, Biology, 491716, Botany, 491708, Ecology, 491714, Zoology, 468216, Science & Mathematics, 465600, New, Used & Rental Textbooks, 2349030011, Specialty Boutique, 283155, Books, 468218, Mathematics, 491542, Algebra & Trigonometry, 491544, Calculus, 491546, Geometry, 491548, Statistics, 468216, Science & Mathematics, 465600, New, Used & Rental Textbooks, 2349030011, Specialty Boutique, 283155, Books
