U.S.A: Pocket, 1982. 1st. Printing. Mass Market Paperback. Very Good. U.S.A: Pocket, 1982. 1st. Printing. Very Good. Standish Hotel, Worcester, Massachusetts, U.S.A. 8 September 1909 Dearest Gisela, I give you a warm bear-hug from the new world! What with the journey, the hospitality, the lectures, the honours (mostly to Freud naturally and, to a lesser extent, Jung), there has hardly been time to blow one's nose, and my mind is in a whirl. But it's already more than clear that America is eager to receive our movement. Brill and Hall are excellent fellows, and everyone at Clark University has overwhelmed us with kindness and compliments. Freud astonished even me with his masterly skill, by delivering five lectures without any notes-composing them during a half-hour's walk beforehand in my company. I need hardly add that he made a deep impression. ISBN 0-671-43916-2

06-12-16, Pocket, 1982, Norman, OK: University of Oklahoma Press, 1938. Reprint. Paperback. Good+. 5 x 7 1/2, 85 pgs, b&w photos. A few areas of light yellow highlighting. Sequoyah is widely celebrated as an unlettered Cherokee Indian who, entirely from the resources of his own brilliant mind, endowed his whole tribe with learning-the only man in history to conceive and perfect in its entirety an alphabet or syllabary. Soon after 1800, Sequoyah began to realize the magic of writing. He and other Indians of the time, who occasionally saw samples of writing, called these mysterious pages the white man s talking leaf. He experimented aimlessly at first, but gradually his conception took practical shape. It was slow and laborious work for an untutored Cherokee. Finally, after twelve years of labor and discouragement, he completed his syllabary, composed of eighty-five symbols, each representing a sound in the Cherokee language. The simplicity of the syllabary and its easy adaptability to the speech and thought of his people enabled them to master it in a few days. The Cherokee nation was made practically literate within a few months., University of Oklahoma Press, 1938, Reading: Addison-Wesley Publishing Co., 1993. From Publishers Weekly: "Science reporter Boslough ( Stephen Hawking's Universe ) takes the reader on the cosmology roller coaster--with Hawking, Richard Feynman, Alan Guth and other physicists--in search of the Theory of Everything. Boslough's journalistic overview serves his subject better than any single-theory approach would; indeed, his thesis is that no single existing theory stands up by itself. The subtitle telegraphs his eventual conclusion that the rapidly accumulating data about our universe reveals foremost how little about its origins we know." 288pp.. 1st Printing. Soft Cover. Fine. Illus. by Wendy W. Cortesi. Large Octavo., Addison-Wesley Publishing Co., 1993
