Joe might be able to help Rebecca finally find her long-lost father and solve the puzzle of her past--for once and for all. And this Turkey Day, Rebecca might be giving thanks for becoming the woman who opened Joe's heart!, Harlequin Books, 2006, Used, Good. Satisfaction Guaranteed. Shipped quickly., Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S.A.: Spinsters Ink, 1994 As new, but with slight shelfwear, wear on honor sticker. Fat 17-year-old Char gropes her way to happiness and self-identity via diets, pop rock, complicated dance moves, and pot while deciding whether she's animal, vegetable, or mineral. Her long-standing best friend, Felice Ventura, a former fat girl herself, now studies Vogue and Cosmo with an attention she gives no academic subject, save geology. Char looks up to Felice, who has a flair for cosmetics, hairdos, and shoplifting, but is confused when her friend kisses her on the lips, then abruptly leaves town until fall. As Char spends her seventeenth summer working in a nursing home, her perceptions broaden to take in beauty's myriad forms and manifestations--the meditative stride of an elderly inpatient, the convolutions of a wrinkled hand, folds of swollen flesh, an eagerly awaited letter. When she visits Felice in the desert, the inevitable coupling finally takes place. Shortly after, the earth really does move, but it's the result of secret underground bomb tests rather than a pledge of undying love. A bittersweet story of teen love., Spinsters Ink, 1994

Fat Girl Dances With Rocks

Spinsters Ink was founded in upstate New York in 1978 to publish feminist books. In 1982, we moved to San Francisco and then merged with Aunt Lute Books (out of Iowa) in 1986 to become Spinsters/Aunt Lute Book Company. The Aunt Lute Foundation became a separate, non-profit publishing company in 1990 while Spinsters Ink moved to Minnesota in 1992. Today, we are housed in Duluth's Building for Women with other feminist organizations dedicated to serving women.<P>Spinsters Ink publishes fiction and non-fiction that deal with significant issues in women's lives from a feminist perspective: books that not only name these crucial issues, but -- more important -- encourage change and growth. We are committed to publishing works by women writing from the periphery: fat women, Jewish women, lesbians, old women, poor women, rural women, women examining classism, women of color, women with disabilities, women who are writing books that help make the best in our lives more possible.
