Updating the Literary West: Western Literature Association - hardcover

With this spring list, TCU Press takes a giant step into the electronic age. In 1987 we published the groundbreaking Literary History of the American West, the first scholarly study to give significance to the literature of the American West. With our stock down to less than twenty copies, reprint did not seem financially feasible, but we want to keep the work available for scholars. So we're joining the electronic age and publishing it on the Web. One electronic authority tells us it's really "cutting edge" for a small press like ours. Yes, we're proud of this accomplishments.The rest of the spring list -- and it's a big list for us! -- reflects our commitment to regional literature, both fiction and nonfiction: a study of an important Fort Worth folk artist; a history of One of the most flamboyant theatrical productions in the country, let alone Texas; a novel which preserves a major but not always well known episode Texas history; a memoir that captures life in far West Texas during the Depression; another volume in our continuing series on U.S.-Mexico border history; and a reprint of a classic work by renowned Texas author Ben Capps. And, delighted with the huge success of Don Graham's Giant Country: Essays on Texas, we've made it available in a trade paper edition to reach an even wider audience.
