Es ist eine größere Bereitschaft vorhanden, neue Kontexte, neue Medien und neue Territorien zu erforschen. Natürlich ist das nichts Neues: Die Arts-and-Crafts-Bewegung befürwortete die interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit , was zu vielen schönen Gebäuden und Kunstwerken führte. Zahlreiche Architekten scheinen sich heute jedoch vor einer Zusammenarbeit zu scheuen; unterscheidet sich das Produkt einer solchen Kooperation doch häufig vollkommen von dem, was jeder Partner unabhängig voneinander erreicht hätte. Zu den Mitarbeitern an diesem Band gehören unter anderen Frank Gehry, Claes Oldenburg und Michael Craig-Martin.
