Details of the book
Osage McVey

Itas the early 1800s, and President Jefferson has acquired the vast territory known as the Louisiana Purchase. Settlers and fortune seekers flock to the west to claim their share. Along the way, a white child, abandoned in the wilderness, is found by a small group of Osage Indians living in the southern Missouri Territory, and when his adoptive family is slaughtered by a ruthless man named Moon, the half-grown boy escapes his captors and swears an oath of vengeance on the perpetrators. Years later, as he grows to manhood, he learns that Moon has settled in St. Louis, and he embarks on a mission of reprisal that will take him to the bustling young city that serves as the gateway to the west. Soon he finds himself immersed in the burgeoning American fur trade as he follows Moon to the far reaches of the Rocky Mountains, where he must confront hostile Indians, unforgiving conditions and his own personal demons.
