It is a fascinating and entertaining book about the people who frequented Strawberry Hill, the fabulous London villa of Horace Walpole, which is now a museum.Walpole, the Earl of Orford, was a politician, writer, collector and art historian who had a wide variety of amusing friends. His circle included the English poet Thomas Gray, the singer and entertainer Kitty Clive, King George's mistress Henrietta Howard, and numerous politicians, artists, architects and socialites.
