The book is very clean and presentable with very little handling wear also. There is no previous owners marks. The author Gunter Grass has signed without dedication to the front free end paper. Overall a really nice near fine copy. The Flounder (German: Der Butt) is loosely based on the fairy tale "The Fisherman and His Wife". It has been translated by Ralph Manheim.
