'Adapted to the Use of Students in Philosophy'. Samuel Vince was a Professor of Astronomy and Experimental Philosophy at Cambridge until his death in 1821. He wrote on many aspects of his expertise, including logarithms and imaginary numbers and, like Charles Babbage, sought to use rational arguments in favour of the belief in religious miracles.
