First Edition. Illustrations include a frontispiece as well as eleven illustrated plates, which show photographs taken by the author and his friends.This is an interesting account on fishing throughout the year, which includes topographical accounts of different regions of Scotland. The author, W. Earl Hodgson, achieved significant success through his fishing contributions to different magazine publications, and wished to gather longer materials which would 'conjure a mirage of a season'.Contents include 'At Dawn of the Opening Day', 'An Unfortunate Custom of the Scots', 'English Streams and Scotch Streams', 'The Temperate month', and 'Are they Seatrout?'.Written by W. Earl Hodgson, who wrote other works including 'Trout Fishing', 'Salmon Fishing', and 'How to Fish'. Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding.
