Excerpt: . . . in workshops where power machinery (driven by steam, wind, water, gas, air, electricity, etc. ) is used, not merely temporarily, even when less than 10 workmen are regularly employed therein, provided that the Federal Council shall have power to allow for certain classes of undertaking, exceptions to the provisions set forth in 135, paragraphs 2, 3, 136, 137, paragraphs 1 to 4, 138. The Federal Council may, by resolution, extend the provisions of 135 to 1396, wholly or in part, to other workshops where less than 10 persons are regularly employed, and to building operations. Regulations issued by the Federal Council may be made to apply only to particular districts. They shall be published in the Reichsgesetzblatt and laid before the Reichstag at its next meeting. II. Drafting amendment. III. 154, paragraph 2, of the Industrial Code shall be re-drafted as follows: --Women shall not be employed below ground in establishments of the aforesaid description. The employment of women in operations in the conveying of materials, except in dressing (separation and washing), in transport and loading is also prohibited above ground. Any person contravening this provision shall be liable to the penalties set forth in 146. Section 4. --I. 9, paragraph 1, of the Act of June 1st, 1891 (R. G. B1, p. 261) is hereby repealed in so far as concerns the enforcement of 154, paragraph 3, of the Industrial Code. II. The administrative provisions of the Federal Council respecting the employment of young persons and women in workshops in which motor power is used are hereby repealed in so far as concern undertakings where at least 10 persons are regularly employed; they shall remain in force in all other cases until they are amended in. . .<
