Chapter XVII PURCHASING AUTOMOBILE TIRES Finding the Right Tire.--The purchasing agent who is responsible for the purchase of a large number of automobile tires should know the whole history of the materials that enter into their manufacture, and be familiar with the various methods of manufacture, and the advantages and disadvantages of each. The conditions under which various weight trucks operate vary so greatly from month to month, and from one locality to another, that the shrewd purchasing agent must necessarily do a good deal of experimenting, before he finds the tire that is best suited to the needs...
