Internationaler Buchtitel. In englischer Sprache. Verlag: AWWARF, 164 Seiten, L=279mm, B=210mm, H=9mm, Gew.=386gr, [GR: 26860 - TB/Bau- und Umwelttechnik], [SW: - Technology & Industrial Arts], Kartoniert/Broschiert, Klappentext: Many water utilities have only a limited knowledge of the structural condition of their underground assets. In order to maintain optimum serviceability, it is increasingly important that utilities gain a better understanding of the current condition and performance of these buried assets. Regular inspection and condition assessment of pipelines can greatly assist utilities with developing robust and cost-effective operational maintenance programs, which will optimize capital expenditure while minimizing risk. The aim of the project was to conduct a state-of-the-art literature review of non-interruptive condition assessment inspection devices for large diameter transmission mains (greater than 12 inches). In addition, an expert panel workshop was to be held to review business needs and drivers, the performance of existing technologies, and future underground asset condition assessment research needs. The work program was carried out according to a number of specific tasks: . A detailed literature and manufacturer search and review of non-interruptive condition assessment inspection devices for large diameter transmission mains. . A telephone consultation with 41 water utilities to better understand the business needs, drivers, and the current use of condition assessment technologies. . Identification of experts to participate in the planned project workshop. . A 3-day workshop to review the business needs, performance of existing technologies, and asset condition assessment research needs. . Development of the project web site to promote the project and to share information generated during the project. . A reporting of the findings from the literature survey, consultation activities, and conclusions from the workshop.
