Before moving to Seattle, land of superb public transportation, I had to keep an old VW running. Being a student on a tight budget, that meant doing it myself -- and thanks to Muir's book I could. If you've got an old Volkswagen, get this book! Like an old VW, this book is practical, quirky, and seems to last forever -- in fact, I think I noticed a copy of Muir's book in the Beetle discovered by Woody Allen in Sleeper!).
