Full colour throughout. The text and the pictures are by Bob Croxford - the book does not try to be a guide-book; nor is it a comprehensive survey or history. It is instead a collection of photographs, which when added together evoke a feel or taste of this highly varied English county. No single image can say all there is about a place. Perhaps several pictures together can create a true impression. The anthology of Devon writing, which accompanies the pictures, is an eclectic collection. It includes both the ancient and the contemporary. In the selection of the pieces, the author has followed the same idea as the photographs in that no piece on its own will tell more than a fragment. Taken together it is an evocation of the rich and varied county.
