Her interest in the North and its peoples and the research for their book and background papers have taken her into the Northwest Territories, Northern Manitoba, Alberta, and Quebec, as well as many other parts of Canada. Hugh McCullum was raised in the Yukon and has been a journalist for most of his adult life with newspapers in Montreal, Toronto, Kingston, and Regina. Most recently, he was editor of Canadian Churchman, a national monthly of the Anglican Church of Canada for the past eight years. His knowledge and love for the North are deep and in the course of his writing, has visited almost every settlement in the Arctic.
